Rom. 8:15-17 NLT
15 So you have not received a spirit that makes you fearful slaves. Instead, you received God’s Spirit when he adopted you as his own children. Now we call him, “Abba, Father.” 16 For his Spirit joins with our spirit to affirm that we are God’s children. 17 And since we are his children, we are his heirs. In fact, together with Christ we are heirs of God’s glory. But if we are to share his glory, we must also share his suffering.
"Daddy! Daddy! help me Daddy!" How much I miss those words now that my children are grown and grand kids mostly too. A 'daddy' relationship is so special both for the child and the father. The child calls out to the dad without much planning, just to express joy, love, need, or even frustration (as in " sighhhhh Dad!!!! sigh again). You and I get that privilege the one who created everything. We get to call him 'Abba.' That was the Jewish equivalent of 'daddy' or papa. We are invited by the One True Creator of the Universe to call out to him "daddy!" and jump into his arms with glee or sorrow. And more, He has arranged that our two spirits become one. He is in you and me and we are in Him. More, we inherit as members of His family-- co-inheritors together with Christ Jesus the Lord of all. If that means a little but of challenge or persecution for the name sake of Jesus Christ, then why worry. After the first moment in Eternity none of that pain from those hardships will be remembered. What is a few days, even a few years of challenge compared with thousands and unending thousands of centuries of Joy?
