Eph. 6:10-12
10 A final word: Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11 Put on all of God’s armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies of the devil. 12 For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places.
We hear lots in the media about power and strength these days. This candidate seems stronger than that one. This elected official has more political power than the others etc. In business we hear about executives who have more knowledge, and therefor are more influential than others. Groups of people seek to create a social influence upon the nation and it's future. All this talk of 'power' or strength, however misses the major truth in God's word. These are mere perceptions and not true power. There is but one who is truly powerful-- all powerful and it is the Lord our God. He shares his power with those who submit to His truth. He grants them protective armor. He grants them weapons for use on offense. He grants them success as they walk in His steps and pursue His goals.
Today you can be experiencing God's armor. Because of this armor, you may be finding yourself standing firm against the attempts by the enemy to undermine and destroy your faith. You may be discovering how to win battles against unseen rulers and authorities of darkness. You may be comforted in the presence of evil spirits inhabiting the supposed leaders of our society and our social structure. Paul says that even when evil spirits gain access to heavenly places, we will over power them should they take aim at us.
