God Shows His Anger Against Wicked People

Rom. 1:18-29 NLT
18 But God shows his anger from heaven against all sinful, wicked people who suppress the truth by their wickedness.  19 They know the truth about God because he has made it obvious to them.  20 For ever since the world was created, people have seen the earth and sky. Through everything God made, they can clearly see his invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature. So they have no excuse for not knowing God.

Often, in our inspirations I try to be upbeat, uplifting, and encouraging. However there are times when to do so would be contrary to God's Word. Not that His word is depressing-- but it must be truthfully represented. Sin has always been sin. Sin will always be sin, no matter what pundits and political leaders try to call it. Today, Christians are inundated by politics and pundits of sin. Homosexual behavior is sin. Adultery is sin, Sex outside of marriage between a man and wife is sin. Gossip is sin. Character assassination is sin. Pursuing personal pleasure at the expense of another is sin. Anything that is in opposition to what God's Word (Scripture) describes as desirable-- that is sin. No matter how much the homosexual lobby or the free love lobby, or the multicultural lobby want to pressure us we can never agree with them that their promoted desirable behavior is acceptable.

We must ALWAYS stand firmly upon what God says is good and against what God says is evil. To oppose God is, itself, evil. There is an ultimate price to pay for evil. We either are, or are not the people of God. If we routinely embrace evil then we are NOT God's people. Tough words but this scripture passage require them. God does get angry. The creator provided the ultimate sacrifice for us to be redeemed. When we get right up into God's face and oppose His standards of good, and cause others to sin, then there will be holy righteously angry God to deal with.

His word says that everyone actually "knows the truth." They know it because God made it common sense, that everyone can ultimately understand if they are willing to deny self-interests. Thus the Word of God places the key emphasis on what people should actually confess. 'They have no excuse for NOT knowing Him' You and I have a responsibility to tell them but if we don't that still does not excuse them.  We also have no excuse for failing to tell them. There is a consequence facing us when we fail to obey the Great Commission.
