Rom. 8:12 Therefore, dear brothers and sisters, you have no obligation to do what your sinful nature urges you to do. 13 For if you live by its dictates, you will die. But if through the power of the Spirit you put to death the deeds of your sinful nature, you will live. 14 For all who are led by the Spirit of God are children of God.
The old ways lead us into death-- eternal separation from our Creator and our created eternal purpose. When you receive the victory over that old nature through your faith in Christ, then you are freed from it. You are 'released' from bondage to it. You are lifted above it and placed into a new plane of existence. The old-- self-centred-- nature wants to pull you toward the enemy-- the Father of lies. The new nature wants to lift you into the very presence of the one who created everything. He is not that science-babble speak you hear on the discovery or science TV channels these days-- the 'god particle' or the 'god equation' etc. He is GOD! He is the ONE AND ONLY God. Everything else is not only not God but is an 'anti-God', seeking to pull you into a dark eternity apart from the One True God. You have the option of putting that sinful nature to death. With Christ's death on the cross your old nature can also die. With Christ's resurrection from the grave your new Spiritual nature can arise now and later your body. The one who promised it to you is true and you can trust Him.
