Since God is For you-- Who can be Against you?

Rom. 8:31-34
31 What shall we say about such wonderful things as these? If God is for us, who can ever be against us?  32 Since he did not spare even his own Son but gave him up for us all, won’t he also give us everything else?  33 Who dares accuse us whom God has chosen for his own? No one—for God himself has given us right standing with himself.  34 Who then will condemn us? No one—for Christ Jesus died for us and was raised to life for us, and he is sitting in the place of honor at God’s right hand, pleading for us.

We've been reveling and praising God because He has chosen us. Here is more to celebrate. Since the Lord has chosen us there are wondrous things for you and I to expect from our relationship with Him. We no longer need worry about enemies or opponents? What would it matter if this person or that person was 'out to get us' when we knew that the ONE who created everything was backing us? What harm could ever come to me, or to you when we live obediently to Him? Nothing will befall us except that which will glorify God and minister to others in His name. And the worst that could come-- death-- no longer is 'the worst.'  It is a door into God's eternal presence, beauty, joy, and brilliance.

When we will be there, there, we will look upon the best we recall of this life as life in a deep dark damp cave, by comparison. Because, as it says, "God has given us right standing with Himself" then nothing anyone else can say can possibly be a problem. So why do we even listen to them when they accuse or criticise us? We can respond like Jesus did, saying "Father forgiven them for they do not know what they are doing." The Lord, Jesus, now risen and at God's constant right hand-- is continuously advocating on our behalf, so not only do we have God's forgiveness, we have our heavenly lawyer, and cheer leader-- Jesus Christ-- promoting our welfare, even as we live out the days here that God has planned for us.

Is this not something to rejoice about today!? Wouldn't it be merciful of you to share this good news with someone who really needs to know it right now? Pray for the Lord to bring someone to mind.
